Disgaea for DS, with screens

Well...it finally happened. I guess the PSP version was more successful than I thought, because otherwise NIS would have no reason to run this game to the ground. Yes it's a port of the first game in the series. Yes it will be on the DS. Will it have anything new? According to the internet it has something called "Demon Gadgets" which are basically items that do all sorts of things, like give your character an exta 30 level boost. Hmm, why would that matter if I'm anywhere beyond level 100?

So far this "demon gadget" business is the only new feature, all the rest were on the PSP or PS2 versions. I have a sinking feeling that they will have to remove a lot of things, like bonus fights or maybe even cut down the voice acting...? But if you're expecting an extra story mode like in the PSP port...I wouldn't get my hopes up that high. Also it's probably safe to say goodbye to the bonus battles from the PSP version.

Screens:

Look at those screens. I don't mean to sound like some sort of anti-DS fanboy but damn, the original's graphics are bad enough and it just seems worse on the DS. I'm not sure if it's really just due to the compression of the images though. We'll see, I guess.

I really don't see the point though, why publish the same damn game three times on three different consoles? Everyone who wants this game has most likely played it more than twice already. Why isn't NIS working on porting Disgaea 2 instead?

New Super Robot Wars game has some interesting surprises

The Super Robot Wars series is like your usual SRPG, only it is filled with, well, mostly Super Robots. (There are Real Robots too, but it's mostly Super Robots.) It is also notorious for never touching US shores except through imports. This latest one, called Endless Frontier: Super Robot Wars OG Saga aggravates this issue further by including characters from ANOTHER game that never made it to the states, NamcoxCapcom. Namely, the two characters at the bottom scan (Xiao Mu and the guy whose name I can't remember). If you noticed, KOS-MOS is in this game too. Too bad for non-Japanese-speaking KOS-MOS fans :( But if you can read Japanese (or a heavy robot fan), this is a great addition to your DS games collection.

Why do most of these images feature Dr. Robotnik? Where's my Ulala? (She is there though I just need more.)

Though it's nice to see him take a break from hurting teh animals and enjoy a friendly game of tennis every once in a while. D:

These images are from the 360 version btw.

Final Fantasy IV DS: Videos with voice acting

Forever-fantasy.net ripped some new videos from the SE website featuring three characters from FFIV: Cecil, Kain, and Rosa. And for the first time ever, you can hear them speak. The voice acting is pretty good, and I'm glad that the music sounds a lot like the original despite being entirely remade.

So, on to said videos:

Contra 4 official site

Is up, and offers all sorts of information like character profiles, enemies, stages, a video-enhanced weapons list (Spread Shot: "the pride and joy of any Contra's weapon chest"), and so much more. Some goodies too, like videos, wallpapers (sample above), and AIM Buddy icons (...). There's even a forum, where you can discuss how this game goes way beyond the recommended manliness level.

Additional screens of upcoming Kingdom Hearts games

Famitsu has made available for viewing some new screenshots of the upcoming Kingdom Hearts games: 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and Coded.

358/2 Days (DS)

Birth by Sleep (PSP)

Coded (mobile)

Also, the links above actually lead to a three-part interview with Tetsuya Nomura, but it's all in crazy moonspeak and I can barely understand any of it, although I'm pretty sure he answered what the hell exactly "358/2 days" is supposed to mean.
